We upgraded to the REAL Goods Shed this time, to bring you a special showcase episode on local legends Bridge Road.
We chat with even bigger legend Rhiannon about her role at Beechworth’s finest establishment, as well as tasting this year’s Hop Harvest releases.
Rhiannon talks us through her journey from craft beer drinker to Bridge Road rep, and gives us the backstory behind the Hazy Harvest and Dark Harvest which we taste tested live.

Hazy Harvest Fresh Hop IPA
Brewed with Fox Friday (Hobart, Tasmania)
This recipe was developed in conjunction with Australia’s hottest new IPA masters, Fox Friday. Together we’ve agreed to turn the Hops up to 11 and showcase the truly unique characters of this year whole hop cones. This increase in fresh hop addition is supplemented by dry hop of freshly processed new season Cascade which takes this beer to another level of hoppy happiness.
An ale that walks the tightrope between maximal and delicate thanks to a deft touch in the brewhouse.
Pouring with a luminous haze and vibrant white head, the juiced-up aromas of passionfruit, pineapple and peach leap from the glass whilst some subtle malt on the palate allows the hops to shine.
A creamy mouthfeel and a smidge of bitterness are balanced beautifully with flavours of sweet pineapple and the unmistakable, resinous and juicy characters of the fresh hops. A delightful expression of this year’s crop.

Dark Harvest Fresh Hop Black IPA
Brewed with Firestone Walker (California, USA)
2023’s Dark Harvest was designed together with Matt Brynildson, Brewmaster at Firestone Walker, a legend of the US craft beer industry, renowned for his extensive knowledge of and passion for all things hops.
Dark Harvest takes influence from FW’s ‘Wookie Jack’ with the inclusion of rye to create a broader malt bill as well as the soft chocolate malts seen in previous editions. An unmissable ale.
A complex and beguiling IPA underpinned by a shared passion for the unique and fleeting nature of its key ingredient.
Up front the aroma brings to mind peaches, dark chocolate and spiced citrus. On the palate, roasty mocha notes meld artfully with the sweet and high tropical characters of the fresh hops. This one WOWS at every step.
