Beercast #23 – Sunday Road Brewing Co Showcase

November 16, 2022 Off By Border Barrels

This week, we’re taking the Sunday Road to Hop-town!

Okay, so that opening joke sucked, but the beers enjoyed on our Sunday Road Brewing Co showcase certainly didn’t.

We enjoyed a New World IPA, an Oat Cream IPA, plus revisit an Imperial Stout that Simmo strained through both his liver and his laptop just 4 short weeks ago.

A short but sweet history of this rising brewery is also looked into.

Thank you to our new friends at Sunday Road, who certainly left a lasting impression on the Border Barrels crew with 3 banging beers.

Also thank you to The Lane Cellars for supplying todays treats.

The lineup consisted of:

Off-Roadie New World IPA

Rip into Off-Roadie. This beer is for the adventurer, the backyard bandit, the weekend warrior, the fourby fanatics. For those who seek a noble crusade, a “Forest Bath”, or an epic outback antic.

We’ve made you the ultimate adventure partner. Off-Roadie hits with a big fresh aroma and a pale yellow colour, mildly malted and heavily hopped hit with a bold hop bill. You’re left with a zippy fresh bold IPA. An IPA that celebrates without bounds. A salute to all thing’s nature. An experience to be known, whether you’re mapping out your next 4WD or cracking a cold one around the fire. Get out, soak it in and experience the wilderness at your doorstep. Adventure awaits.

Dust From a Distant Sun Oat Cream IPA

The Distant Sun has drawn closer with a welcome of rolled oats and ripe kiwi hops. Your glass is greeted with a flaxen haze and pillowy head. Indulge in the subtle coconut undertones, and juicy sherbet aroma. A perfect harmony of bitter and sweet – let the Distant Sun shower over everyone.

Some Velvet Evening Imperial Stout

You’ve tried Some Velvet Morning, which surely left you mourning when it vacated the shelves. Cry no more, for Some Velvet Evening has arrived. A warm winters welcome to a Sunday Road Imperial Stout. Wrap yourself in a luxurious velvet coat, and hibernate on this. The Evening rolls in with a blanket of roasted malts, and boasts a strong dry dark chocolate body with a touch of java coming through in subtle undertones. A smooth decadent stout that will warm you till winters end.
